Privacy Policy

Last updated:

DevTools Master is built so that the tools themselves never see your data. Everything that processes text, files, images or tokens runs inside your browser. This page explains the small amount of information we do collect, why, and what control you have over it.

The short version

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Text you paste, files you open, images you convert and tokens you decode are processed by JavaScript on your own device. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and none of it is stored anywhere.

The only thing we collect is an anonymous count of page views, so we can tell which tools are useful. That count contains no personal data: no name, no email address, no account, no stored IP address and no cross-site identifier.

What we collect

When a page loads, the browser sends one small record to our analytics endpoint. It contains exactly four fields:

  • The path of the page, for example /en/tools/hash-generator — so we can count views per tool.
  • A device class of mobile, tablet or desktop, derived from the viewport width. No model, vendor or screen resolution is recorded.
  • A two-letter country code supplied by Cloudflare's edge network from the connection itself. City-level or more precise location is never used or stored.
  • A random identifier generated by your browser, stored in a cookie, that expires after 24 hours and exists only to stop one visitor being counted twice in a day. It is not derived from anything about you or your device, and it is not used to build a profile.

What we deliberately do not collect

These are choices, not oversights:

  • IP addresses are not written to our database. The country code above is the only thing derived from the connection, and it is read at the edge before the request reaches us.
  • User-Agent strings, referrers, screen dimensions, fonts, canvas fingerprints and every other signal used for browser fingerprinting are ignored.
  • Your tool inputs are never logged, sampled, cached or sent anywhere. Nothing you type or open leaves your device.
  • No accounts, no email addresses, no advertising identifiers and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

Cookies

An ordinary visitor receives at most three first-party cookies. All of them use SameSite=Lax, Path=/ and Secure, and none of them are shared with third parties.

  • devtools_lang — remembers the language you selected, for 365 days. Without it you would be asked again on every visit.
  • devtools_theme — remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, for 365 days.
  • devtools_stats — the random 24-hour identifier described above, used only to avoid double-counting a page view.
  • devtools_admin_session — set only on the site operator's own browser, and only after they sign in to the private traffic console. It is never issued to visitors, uses SameSite=Strict and HttpOnly, and expires on its own after two hours.

Analytics

Analytics here are aggregate and privacy-preserving by design. We count page views and unique visitors per day, and we look at totals across tools and countries. We do not build individual profiles, we do not follow you to other websites, and we do not sell or share analytics data with anyone.

The data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database in the European Union. Individual records are retained for 180 days and then deleted; only aggregate counts are kept longer.

You can opt out completely by blocking cookies for this site, using your browser's tracking protection, or enabling Do Not Track — the tools continue to work exactly the same, because none of them depend on analytics.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may set their own cookies or read device identifiers to serve ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Where required by law — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — advertising cookies are only set after you give consent through a consent banner, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.

Advertising is only ever displayed alongside the tools. No input you provide to a tool is ever shared with an advertiser, and ad code has no access to the contents of any tool panel.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Because we do not hold personal data, there is almost nothing to act on — but you can exercise the rights that do apply.

To remove the identifiers stored on your device, clear cookies for this site in your browser settings. To request deletion of any analytics record, contact us at the address below and we will action it within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the AdSense arrangement described above.

Children's privacy

This site is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Some pages link to external documentation, specifications or tools. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not apply to them. We have no control over their content or their data practices.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes — anything that expands what we collect — will be noted on the homepage for at least 30 days before they take effect.
